Early Autumn Camellia is a hardy evergreen shrub prized for its abundant production of beautiful deep pink, lavender rose colored flowers that is notorious for its early blooming period occuring in early September to March. The showy blooms are 4 inches in diameter and are semi-double to formal double and look gorgeous against its glossy, dark green foliage.

Moderate to tall growing and with an upright habit, this japonica variety will mostly reach 8-10 feet tall and 6-8 feet wide at maturity. Requires minimum pruning and maintenance. Great for specimen planting, groupings, hedges, espalier (trained to grow flat against a wall), foundation plantings, borders, mass plantings, woodland gardens, and containers.
Can thrive in conditions of drought, high temperatures, and moisture after becoming established.
Thrives in hardiness zones 7-9 and like morning sun and afternoon shade, full shade or partial shade. Avoid the direct hot afternoon sun. Prefers acidic, moist, well-drained soil but not constant soggy soil.
